FH-Prof. DI Dr. Wilhelm Süßenbacher is the founder and managing director of EPOOL and has more than 15 years of professional experience in the energy industry. As part of his work as a professor for renewable energies and energy economics at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, he deals intensively with technical, economic and legal issues in the energy industry.

Before joining the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences, he worked for the regulatory authority E-Control and as a research assistant at the Institute for Electricity Economics and Energy Innovation at Graz University of Technology. At EPOOL, he mainly oversees the subject areas of regulation, energy markets, electricity market design, energy management modeling, storage technologies, electrical grids and renewable energies.

DI Dr. Rudolf KRALL
Partner
DI Dr. Rudolf Krall is a partner of EPOOL and has more than 15 years of professional experience in the field of energy technology. As the founder and owner of an electrotechnical planning office, he deals extensively with current issues in the field of electrical and energy technology.

Before working as a civil engineer, he was group leader for engine and electronics development at NIDEC / Secop as well as group leader Power System at AMSC-WINDTEC. He is a part-time lecturer for wind power and electromagnetic converters at the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences. At EPOOL, the subject areas of electrical machines, in particular electrical systems, electrical drive technology and energy generation, wind power and photovoltaics, are his responsibility.

FH-Prof. MMag. Dr. Michael SCHMIDTHALER

FH-Prof. MMag. Dr. Michael Schmidthaler is a partner of EPOOL and has more than 10 years of professional experience in the energy industry. As part of his work as a professor for international services and innovation at the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences, he is intensively involved in the provision of services on an international level and with innovation processes.

Before joining the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences, he worked as a balance group leader at Energie AG Trading, as a research assistant at the JKU Linz Energy Institute and as an R&D assistant at the Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change in Graz. At EPOOL, his core competencies include energy modeling, energy markets, energy trading, electricity price forecasts, security of supply assessment, regulation and energy law.

DI Franz TYMA, BA
Partner
DI Franz Tyma, BA is a partner of EPOOL and has more than 10 years of experience in the energy industry. He is the managing owner of a technical office and deals with issues in the field of infrastructure construction and the energy industry.

Before this position, he worked as a short-term position manager and power market analyst at EnBW and as a project assistant at the institute for electricity industry and energy innovation at TU Graz. At EPOOL, he oversees the areas of energy networks, energy generation, power plant utilization optimization, energy trading, electricity price forecasts and energy management modeling.
